They wanted to confirm that I was truly who he said I was, and that he was truly who he said he was. Good thing he had called me before he went into the interview. I was a bit taken aback to learn that companies really did these things; then again, I thought this particular step was a bit loose. I replied telling them my friend was the greatest dude to ever walk the planet. How's that for integrity?
