Choosing Plate Rolls
There are many industries in today’s world that work with heavy machinery. Whether it is a local grocery story or a large industrial plant we find that what we consider to be heavy machinery is becoming more and more standard in our lives.
Plate rolls are a type of heavy machinery for working with metal. There are many different kinds of plate rolls that are unique and specialize in doing different tasks.
When choosing a plate roll to use with your company it is crucial that you know the ins and outs of the different options you have. Buying a plate roll is a big investment, and you want to purchase a piece of machinery that will give you the best results for your job and last you a long time.
An option is the HRB-3. The HRB-3 is a hydraulic machine that uses the plate rolls to bend metal.
When you purchase a HRB-3 the machine comes with a set of standard specifications. If these specifications do not meet all your needs there are also optional accessories.
The HRB-3 comes equipped with a control unit that gives you 4 digital readouts. The multi-pass points are programmable and the machine is able to easily perform the task of cone bending.
The HRC 58 rolls are hardened which makes them highly durable. Another contributing factor to the durability of these rolls is the fact that they are forged 4140 alloy steel rolls.
These rolls are machined by CNC Lathes with optimal crown. The electronic control for side rolls gives the operator optimal control.
All of the rolls are mounted on bearings in a stress relieved steel construction machine frame, giving the operator and owner the security of knowing the rolls will function correctly for a long time.
If the rolls need to be removed they are situated on a hydraulic drop, and a pull out system. The rolls are driving with a combination of hydraulic motors and planetary gear boxes.
Having a dual speed control becomes very beneficial because the machine is also equipped with electric and hydraulic protection against overloads.
Lastly, the components of this machine are world standard electrical and hydraulic. Therefore, if a piece ever needs to be replaced you are able to find the piece at a local supplier.
All of the features discussed thus far come standard with the machine. It is important to keep in mind the optional choices if you are looking for a specific feature.
Variable speed control is available if the metals you will be working with need specific speeds to be rolled. If it is important to be able to work remotely on the plate roll, remotes are available.
Remotes can come wireless or wired. It is important to remember that having a worker with good discretion nearby is very important.
If you are particularly concerned with your machine overheating you can request an oil cooling system. This system would be necessary if the machine will be under constant use for long periods of time or will be used in extremely hot temperatures.
The machine will not overheat if it is being used within normal parameters. The only times the oil cooling system would be a necessity is when the machine is undergoing extra ordinary work.
If the stability of the machine is an issue vertical and side supports are excellent remedies. The times when these supports would be necessary are if the machine will be in an unstable area or a volatile area.
Besides the options for the machine itself, there are also options that will change the actual rollers. These options can help when working with metals that may require a certain specification of plate rolls.
You can opt to have a changeable top roll for smaller diameters. These rolls of a smaller diameter are available at your locator supplier.
Extended rolls for section bending are another optional accessory. When rolling wide sheets of metal it is important to make sure the rolls are equipped properly.
Finally, polished rolls are available to provide a more even roll throughout all of the metal. These polished rolls are only necessary when the finish of the metal that is rolled is very important.
There are many options when looking to purchase a plate roller. It is important to be informed and to carefully consider all of the options.
If purchasing a HRB-3 it is important to remember that fully custom made machines are available. If you have a very specific idea of what you need in your plate roll this may be your best option.
