Social Networking as a Business Building Tool
Times have certainly changed. For decades the Entrepreneurial Americans have known about how to create and work businesses from the comfort of their homes. Millions have built very good incomes and created financial fortresses for themselves and their families. Naturally, many people would just call them lucky, they must have had lots of money to begin with or they probably came from rich families and on and on.
The reality is most of them did not have lots of money to start a business and if they were already rich, why bother? There are people out there who were nearly destitute, many had experienced bankruptcy and lots were so out on a limb financially they had to succeed or give up. They got started and refused to quit until they came out winners. People like them have the hearts of champions and quitting is never an option.
Home businesses have gotten a bad rap over the years. Sometimes deserved and more often than not a few people who never really gave it enough time or effort to make it work for them quit and started complaining to whomever would listen. The world is full of people who just don’t believe enough in themselves to see it through. They refuse to take directions or are not what many in the industry call “coachable.” If you think you know it all and don’t want to listen to experts in whatever business you’ve chosen you’d be better off not starting in the first place.
There are so many businesses you can start for under $500 and some for even less than $100. The number ONE thing to make sure of before you begin your own business venture is to never, ever start a business unless you have enough capital to run your business including advertising for a minimum of three months, and to be on the safe side, six months.
If you’re wise and do your homework or due diligence, you may not even need that much if you’re willing to jump in and do whatever it takes to be successful. Find people in your chosen industry that are successful, making money and have been working in that field for a few years. People LOVE to give advice and are completely flattered when someone asks their opinion and a bit of help. Ask around in the circle of people you begin to know and find out who the “winners” are, get their phone numbers and give them a call.
Naturally don’t make a pest of yourself. Have a note pad handy and take notes. A fifteen to twenty minute one-on-one with a home business superstar could be priceless in building your success. Also find out what if any training or opportunity calls they may be on as guest speakers and get on as many as possible, listen and again make lots of notes.
Also, change your mind-set from “worker bee” to entrepreneur. Someone who has only worked a regular job for decades sometimes finds it a stretch to get out of the job rut and into the freedom of having your own business. Running your own life and doing what you want when you want to do it can be a shock to many a person’s system. They’re so used to being bossed it’s sometimes difficult to take total responsibility for your financial future. Believe me, it’s the most wonderful feeling in the world to have total freedom, never having to worry about answering to anyone else but yourself and either winning or losing on your terms. Understand, freedom brings responsibility and with that the consequences.
There are organizations that cater to those interested in starting a home business. Find one that offers a free membership to the general public and provides different home business opportunities and resources for education and access to experts who can guide you toward your success.

With 20,000,000 jobs needed in the United States, there is truly no way our Economy will rebound enough in the next few years to get all our workers employed again. The only way to fill the void is to give starting your own home business a VERY close look. Just make sure you find the one that best suits what you’re looking for.
So get out there and figure out a way to solve your financial challenges. It may take six months to a year before you create an income to replace the one you have or recently lost, but then again you may be one of those who is so ready for a change you can do it much faster. Just find the right resources and talk to enough people before you make any decision or spend one penny.
