Attracting Wealth – Does Your Attitude Attract Wealth Or Repel It?
Not everyone will own up to it, but deep inside we all wish to have more money in our lives. For most of us, having more money helps us live more comfortably, and without needing to stress to pay the bills or worry about debt. However, while a lot of us want to bring in more of the groovy green stuff, only a small number of people know how to actually attract wealth. Fortunately, many self-made people have shared their methods; and most of their techniques can be easy worked into our every day lives with minimal effort – once we begin to “get” the wealth attitude.
One popular idea that the overwhelming majority of prosperous men and women reject is that wealth is somehow “the root of all evil,” or that having an abundance of cash makes you money grubbing, selfish or a bad person. This is, of course, complete nonsense.
To attract wealth, you must be at ease with (and really appreciate) financial wealth, not see it as a negative thing. If you feel that wealth as an immoral thing or a “sin,” you are blocking your own financial success, most likely, failing to do your part to contribute to society in a productive way.
Although it is true that you can find money-grubbing rich people in the world, we should continually remind ourselves that money is mostly used for good and noble purposes. But the fact is, wealth isn’t necessarily bad or good — it’s always our choice how we use it. We can use wealth positively to help ourselves and others, or in a selfish, fear-based way that cuts us off from the world.
The law of attraction teaches that it is necessary to be have a good relationship with money, and to establish an internal feeling that it is plentiful. It’s sad to say, but so many of us have been convinced that “Money doesn’t grow on trees,” leading to a mindset of lack and limitation. This, in turn, creates a limiting belief that says it’s difficult to obtain wealth and live abundantly (when in fact it isn’t). But as long as we hold on to this opinion, it will certainly seem difficult or impossible to attract the success and wealth most of us really desire.
Trying to make yourself content with just “a little wealth” won’t work either. In order to attract wealth, we can’t be scared of dealing with huge sums of cash. Visualizing yourself dealing with great wealth is actually helpful. This helps set up a money mindset, and gradually makes us more comfortable with the idea of being wealthy.
When we focus our mind on bringing in money and abundance, instead of lack or limitation, we begin to see the world and our possibilities in a very different way. But if we persuade ourselves to be content with just a little (usually from fear), then we can’t expect to achieve much.
Likewise, we need to appreciate that wealth creation follows a pattern. Successful people have sometimes likened money to a flowing stream; and we must go with the flow and not be scared to spend money in order to receive it –there is always a give and take. To be able to attract much more wealth, we have to do away with fear and stinginess, and be ready to share our abundance with others. Trying to horde our cash is always an indicator of a lack-based mentality and it does NOT attract wealth.
But at the same time, we don’t need to live above our means to be in the flow of wealth. Balance is the key. Being careful and wise in our spending is admirable, just don’t pinch pennies to the point where you deny others a fair wage for their hard work or products.
“What I want for me, I want for everyone” is the proper state of mind. Compensate other people fairly for their work, and expect to be compensated fairly yourself. After all, if you don’t recognize the value of others, you won’t recognize your own value either…
Finally, it is important to overcome the competitive mindset to attract wealth. Comparing ourselves to others is always a fool’s game, and it encourages a lack-based mentality. Rather, we must realize that everybody has their own road to abundance. If somebody we know comes into a great fortune, we should wish them well and be truly happy for them; keep in mind that your time will come too.
Scarcity is nothing but a (very pervasive) myth, so there is no need to feel jealousy of anyone’s success. There’s more than enough to go around — there always has been and always will be.
You never have to compete to attract wealth and abundance. And the sooner you stop trying to compete with others, the sooner you get busy creating your own wealth. Remember, wealth is created, not competed for; and at any given moment, you’re either competing or creating. So which will you be doing today?
